Job summary

NHL Cylinders in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on engineer to read and interpret engineering drawings, load and set up a robotic welder, and run production cycles on the shop floor.

You will inspect welds with precision measuring tools, perform daily/weekly maintenance, keep a clean, safe workstation, and use the MRP system to track jobs. The role offers nights Mon-Thu with overtime and a supportive, equal-opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude and analytical thinkers who can solve problems.
• Proficient IT skills and Windows-based software familiarity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in precision engineering is beneficial; hydraulics experience preferred; robotic welding advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Load/unload work onto machines.
• Set up a robotic welder.
• Use measuring equipment to inspect welds.
• Perform daily and weekly maintenance checks.
• Maintain a safe, organized workstation.
• Use the MRP system for tracking.
• Report defects and contribute to root-cause analysis.

Job description

• Reading, understanding & accurately interpreting engineering drawings
• Loading & unloading work in progress onto the machine
• Setting up a robotic welder
• Accurately using the measuring equipment required for welding
• Visual and dimensional inspection of welds
• Carry out weekly & daily maintenance checks of work equipment
• Maintain a safe, organised workstation
• Use of the company MRP system
• Report any defects and actively participate in root cause identification and improvement actions

Full training will be provided to the successful candidate; however, candidates should possess:

• Ability to maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Mechanical aptitude and analytical thinker with the ability to solve problems.
• Ability to read & accurately interpret engineering drawings.
• Possess proficient IT skills.
• Windows-based operating systems/programs knowledge.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in the precision engineering sector is beneficial
• Experience within the hydraulics sector is preferred
• Robotic Welding experience is advantageous

Hours of Work

Monday – Thursday: 4:45 pm to 03:15 am
Friday: Off
