Job summary

RAC Roadside Technician in the UK delivers expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support, helping members back on the road quickly.

You’ll start and finish at home with a dedicated RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools and a diagnostic kit, operating on 40-hour weeks with demand-led shifts and optional overtime. You’ll contribute to high-quality breakdown response nationwide.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Tackle faults such as flat batteries, tyre changes and fault finding.
