Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Mechanic to diagnose faults and carry out roadside repairs across the Esher cluster and surrounding areas. You will work a flexible shift pattern, covering early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, with a base salary of £55,869 and potential to £61,000 with overtime and allowances.

You’ll receive a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit from day one, plus development support toward industry accreditation. No CV is required to apply.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience
• Or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Roadside mechanic role requiring diagnostic and repair skills

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault diagnostics and repairs on roadside or in depot
• Manage and maintain kit and vehicle stock to ensure readiness
• Support RAC members, communicate clearly, and resolve issues efficiently
