Job summary

Roadside Technician role based in Bournemouth for a national breakdown company. The position offers 40 hours per week, with shifts 6.00am–02.00am and occasional overnight stays. Attractive pay (£50,000 base; OTE up to £57,000) plus overtime, bonus and extensive benefits.

Applicants must have UK right to work, a valid UK driving licence (max 6 points) and relevant light vehicle maintenance qualifications. Permanent, full-time role with clear career progression.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, in a workshop or mobile role.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical roadside repairs including battery changes and wheel changes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn't possible to keep the member mobile.
• Advise members on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely in varied environments and conditions.

Roadside Technician - Superflex role (Field based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

In a Roadside Technician Patrol - Superflex role, you'll be part of our most agile and responsive unit - ready to support drivers when they need it most. This role is designed for those who can offer extra flexibility around changing schedules, less sociable hours, and shorter notice periods. The basic salary is substantially higher than a standard Patrol Technician to compensate for the flexibility needed for this role.

Pay / salary: £50,000 OTE: Up to £57,000

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week, averaged over the year. Scheduling visibility - working pattern issued seven days in advance, with 72 hours' notice for the specific hours. Working hours range is 6.00am - 02.00am, occasional overnight stay. Rest and recovery - 11 hours of rest between shifts and a minimum of two days off every fortnight. Shift hours may be reduced or withdrawn with a day's notice, so it's important that you can be adaptable. Shift times - shifts may start early, finish late, or fall on any day of the week. What you'll need to a be considered for the Roadside Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
