Job summary

Roadside Technician role based in the UK, performing roadside breakdown repairs and diagnostics for a national breakdown service. The position offers a Superflex shift pattern with 40 hours per week, on-call coverage, and potential for overtime and progression.

Salary of £55,869 inclusive of LWA, with OTE up to £61,000. Permanent, full-time, with benefits including pension contributions, life insurance, and breakdown cover for the employee's household.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles, in workshop or mobile role.
• Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
• Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
• Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
• Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

Roadside Technician – Superflex role (Field based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

In a Roadside Technician Patrol - Superflex role, you’ll be part of our most agile and responsive unit – ready to support drivers when they need it most. This role is designed for those who can offer extra flexibility around changing schedules, less sociable hours, and shorter notice periods. The basic salary is substantially higher than a standard Patrol Technician to compensate for the flexibility needed for this role.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Pay / salary: £55,869 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: Up to £61,000

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week, averaged over the year. Scheduling visibility – working pattern issued seven days in advance, with 72 hours’ notice for the specific hours. Working hours range is 6.00am – 02.00am, occasional overnight stay. Rest and recovery – 11 hours of rest between shifts and a minimum of two days off every fortnight.

Shift hours may be reduced or withdrawn with a day’s notice, so it’s important that you can be adaptable. Shift times – shifts may start early, finish late, or fall on any day of the week. That’s the Superflex commitment.
