Job summary

The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic in the United Kingdom, based in Sheffield. You will start and end at your driveway, earning from day one, and you’ll be the friendly face of the UK’s largest motoring organisation, ready for anything in all weather.

You will work independently across varied locations, using your technical knowledge to deliver a positive customer experience and resolve breakdowns on the spot.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
• Full UK Class B driving licence with 6 points or less.
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology; you’ll be provided with tools.

Responsibilities

• Starting and finishing on your driveway, paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while being part of a supportive team.
• Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle roadside situations.

Shifts:

As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

As our Roadside Rescue Mechanic, you’ll go the extra mile for our members. Anything can happen whilst driving, but we are the AA and we get everyone back on the road safely so the show can go on. What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
