The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to join our UK-wide patrol team. You will diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside, using your technical knowledge and a customer-friendly approach to get members back on the road quickly.

You’ll work across varied locations with flexible shifts and a strong earning potential including guaranteed first-year earnings. With NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and a valid category B driving licence, you will benefit from a comprehensive package

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What will I be doing?

• Starting and finishing on your driveway paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
• Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to help ensure a positive customer experience.
• Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.

Guaranteed year 1 earnings include applicable location allowance and a £2,000 sign-on bonus in eligible locations. OTE includes standby hours payment, performance incentive and overtime earnings and is dependent on performance and hours worked.
