Job summary

The AA is looking for a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to join its UK-wide team. You’ll start and finish your shifts from your van, working independently across varied locations while staying part of a supportive team.

You’ll use technical knowledge and calm communication to resolve roadside issues and get members back on the road. Expect a 40-hour week with flexible shift patterns, plus guaranteed year 1 earnings of £43,976 and an OTE up to £60,000 in top locations.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience.
• Full category B driving licence with 6 points or less.
• Confident using and adapting to new technology; we provide the tools.
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays.

Shifts

As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
