Job summary

The AA is seeking a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to join its UK-wide team. You will be the friendly face working across varied locations, using technical skills to help members get back on the road quickly.

Expect a guaranteed first-year earnings floor of £38,270 with OTE up to £60,000 based on performance. Shifts average around 40 hours per week with flexible patterns and opportunities to tailor your schedule.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• Full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays

• Starting and finishing on your driveway paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team
• Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to help ensure a positive customer experience
• Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
