Job summary

The AA is looking for a Roadside Rescue Mechanic to join its UK-wide team. You’ll work around 40 hours weekly, with flexible shift patterns and travel to varied locations to help members when they need it most.

Starting from your driveway to today's roadside challenges, you’ll apply technical knowledge and clear communication to restore journeys safely. You’ll be the friendly face of the nation’s largest motoring organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience.
• Full category B driving licence with 6 points or less.
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology provided by the company.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Starting and finishing on your driveway; paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
• Working independently across varied locations and conditions while remaining a valued part of a team.
• Using technical knowledge and clear communication to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Solving problems on the spot using your technical skills and calm approach to roadside scenarios.

Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts will vary based on the shift pattern you select.

What do I need?

• NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience
• It’s essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less
• Confidence using and adapting to new technology we’ll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
• Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don’t stick to a schedule.
