Job summary

RAC in the Bournemouth cluster is recruiting Roadside Technicians to join our Patrol division. You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs and assist members across the UK, starting and ending your day at home with a RAC van and full toolkit.

You’ll enjoy strong base pay (£42,921.87) with a realistic OTE around £60k, plus benefits, share scheme, and generous holidays. If you’re proactive, calm under pressure and committed to helping drivers on the road, this role could suit you.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or 5+ years’ experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members on call-outs.

Where you’ll work

You’ll be part of the Bournemouth cluster, covering areas like Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood, Wareham, Swanage.We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

What you’ll need...Either:

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head‑on and making a real impact on the roadside - combining your technical expertise with outstanding member service.
