Job summary

Amey is seeking a Highways Maintenance Operative to join the Leek Depot team in Staffordshire and contribute to keeping the road network safe and efficient. The role is based on-site with 40 hours per week, and the ability to work flexibly within hybrid or part-time patterns is supported where possible.

You will perform routine highway maintenance, patching, kerbing and drainage work, and participate in incident response and winter services.

Qualifications

• Experience in roads and/or street works.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance tasks including carriageway and footway patching, kerbing, ironwork replacement, and drainage maintenance.
• Attend work briefings to receive instructions and guidance on driving/operating vehicles and plant equipment.
• Participate in 24hr standby rotations during summer and winter for incident response and winter maintenance.
• Allocate and track time and resources using the allocated system.
• Keep accurate records and liaise with Amey employees, sub-contractors, emergency services, clients and customers.
