Job summary

Amey is inviting applications for a Highways Maintenance Operative on-site at Gailey depot (ST19 5PR). The role supports Staffordshire County Council and Amey's highways maintenance partnership across the UK.

The standard hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible, hybrid, and part-time options discussed to fit your needs. You will perform maintenance tasks, attend briefings, and contribute to winter and incident-response rotations.

Qualifications

• Experience in roads and/or street works.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform various highway maintenance tasks, including patching, kerbing, ironwork replacement, and drainage maintenance.
• Attend work briefings to receive instructions on driving/operating vehicles and plant equipment.
• Participate in 24hr standby rotations during summer and winter for incident response and winter maintenance.
• Allocate and track time and resource usage according to the allocation system.
• Keep accurate records and complete all necessary paperwork, liaising with Amey employees, subcontractors, emergency services, clients and customers.
