Job summary

WSP in Wales is seeking an enthusiastic engineer to join the Roads team in Cardiff or Wrexham. You will lead day‑to‑day highway consultancy work across feasibility through to construction, delivering schemes for diverse sectors and clients while coordinating multi‑disciplinary inputs.

Depending on grade, you will manage design teams, prepare fee proposals and budgets, ensure compliance with health and safety and quality standards, and build strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Relevant knowledge and experience of highway design and/or drainage systems at various stages of the project life cycle.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with post‑qualification experience or working towards this.
• Ability to lead one or more design disciplines on highway/public transport projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day technical delivery of highway consultancy services across all project stages.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs and manage budgets and timelines.
• Liaise with clients, develop trusted relationships and advise on project direction.
• Lead and review design outputs, prepare fee proposals and tender packages.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality standards.
