Job summary

Amey is recruiting for Highways Maintenance Operatives in Peterhead on a full-time permanent basis. The role involves 39 hours per week from Monday to Friday with occasional night shifts and Friday early finish.

You will contribute to routine and winter maintenance, road safety, and the delivery of trunk network improvements under Transport Scotland. Role requirements include experience in roads works, a full UK driving licence, and a strong focus on health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in roads/ street works.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Demonstrate awareness of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
• Be self-motivated and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out highway maintenance tasks including patching, kerbing, ironwork replacement, and drainage maintenance.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, including HGVs and small plant, with checks and routine maintenance.
• Participate in winter and summer standby duties and emergency callouts.
• Prioritise safety for yourself and the team and maintain good records.
• Liaise with Amey staff, subcontractors, emergency services, police, clients and customers.
