Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Road Safety Coordinator in Chichester to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of cycle training and road safety programmes. The role is based at County Hall with hybrid working and requires engagement with a wide range of audiences.

You will coordinate campaigns, manage information, and provide advice while contributing to the council's safety objectives. A full driving licence and flexible travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable administrative experience managing records and information.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Experience providing accurate and timely advice and guidance to audiences.
• Ability to interpret information, correlate data and plan short-term actions.
• Experience partnering with external bodies, volunteers and agencies.
• Sound IT skills and knowledge of standard office applications.
• Experience implementing policies in response to new government legislation.
• A full clean driving licence is essential for county-wide travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, customer-focused advisory and administrative service to diverse audiences.
• Support marketing, promotion and communication of initiatives and programmes.
• Develop, plan and implement campaigns and web pages.
• Interpret, collate and analyse information and statistics to inform performance.
• Raise awareness of initiatives locally through various media and channels.
• Travel around the county using pool cars and pool bikes as required.
