Job summary

Hertfordshire Constabulary is seeking a Camera Operator for the Cameras, Tickets & Collisions Unit (CTC). You will operate mobile and fixed camera systems across three counties, with a mix of field and limited office-based work.

The role involves lifting camera units, attending court as needed, and maintaining enforcement records. Base locations include Stevenage or Monks Wood, with shift patterns and a 37-hour week plus potential overtime.

Qualifications

  • Experience with road enforcement and camera equipment operation is expected.
  • Ability to travel across BCH and nationally, and to work lone and in a team.
  • Knowledge of court procedures and evidence handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend mobile and static speed enforcement sites to operate camera enforcement equipment and detect offences.
  • Prepare electronic case files and check evidential files from fixed cameras.
  • Act as Officer in the Case and disclosure officer, presenting evidence in court when required.
  • Manage high-value enforcement assets and coordinate with multi-agency partners for efficient deployment.
  • Attend court as a witness alongside the Crown Prosecution Service when necessary.
