Operating a fleet of more than 80 trucks and 120 trailers, we are recognised for delivering reliable, flexible and customer focused transport solutions. Our UK operations are based in Manchester and Milton Keynes, working closely with our headquarters in the Netherlands.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Road Freight Operator will be responsible for managing customer quotations, bookings, and shipment movements across the UK and Benelux markets. The role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple customer requirements in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service whilst maintaining strong relationships with customers and approved suppliers. This is a fast-paced position requiring the ability to manage a high volume of customer enquiries, quotations, and bookings whilst maintaining exceptional service standards and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional levels of customer service, ensuring client requirements are handled professionally and efficiently.
• Produce accurate and competitive quotations in accordance with company procedures and pricing guidelines.
• Manage customer bookings from enquiry through to completion, ensuring all service requirements are fully understood and communicated.
• Coordinate transport movements with operational teams in the Netherlands to ensure timely collection and delivery.
• Maintain regular and proactive communication with customers regarding operational updates.
• Obtain and verify all documentation required for transport movements, including customs related authorisations where required.
• Liaise with customs personnel to ensure export and import processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Input and maintain accurate shipment information within company systems.
• Generate accurate customer invoices and resolve any invoice-related queries promptly.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage long-term business growth and retention.
• Adhere to company procedures, quality standards and compliance requirements always.
• Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the operation.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience within road freight, transport or logistics operations is essential. Experience of European groupage or full-load transport would be advantageous.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service and relationship management abilities.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
