Time Appointments Ltd is seeking an experienced European Road Freight Operator to join our Felixstowe operation. The role focuses on arranging European road freight shipments, negotiating with hauliers and delivering excellent customer service across the shipment lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in European road freight forwarding, strong industry knowledge, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage European road shipments including part and full loads.
• Coordinate trailer movements and monitor collections/deliveries.
• Provide timely quotations to customers.
• Negotiate rates with hauliers and partners.
• Maintain relationships with customers, hauliers and internal teams.
• Resolve delays and service issues as they arise.

We have been instructed to recruit an experienced European Road Freight Operator to join our client’s Felixstowe operation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading independent transport company that prides itself on providing first-class European road haulage and international freight services to its clients.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

• Proven experience working as a European Road Freight Forwarder, or similar experience within the industry
• Strong industry knowledge and technical expertise
• A good understanding of rates, customers and suppliers within the European road freight sector
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Outstanding customer service skills, with a professional approach to both suppliers and customers
• The ability to work on their own initiative, as well as part of a team
• An additional European language would be advantageous; however, it is not essential

Skills & Experience Required:

• Arranging and managing European road freight shipments, including part loads and full loads.
• Planning and coordinating trailer movements efficiently, ensuring collections and deliveries are monitored and completed appropriately
• Preparing accurate and competitive customer quotations
• Negotiating rates and service options with hauliers, agents and European partners
• Managing and supporting a portfolio of customers, including liaising with and updating them throughout the shipment process and handling queries or issues as appropriate
• Building strong business relationships with customers, hauliers and internal teams
• Ensuring all shipment details, costs, charges and customer records are accurately maintained and updated
• Resolving delays, service issues and supplier problems
