Job summary

Streamline Search Ltd. is seeking a Business Development Manager for road freight based in Merseyside. You will identify new customers, build relationships, and generate revenue by expanding the road freight operation.

The role requires understanding of freight forwarding, pricing and customer requirements, with a focus on developing opportunities and close collaboration with operations. The role offers hybrid working and a salary up to £45,000 DOE, with typical hours Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

Qualifications

• Experience in business development or sales within freight forwarder/road transport.
• Good understanding of road freight operations, pricing and customer requirements.
• Able to identify opportunities and build relationships with prospective customers.

Responsibilities

• Identify and approach potential customers requiring road freight and transport services.
• Develop new business opportunities and build lasting customer relationships.
• Generate leads through prospecting, networking and industry contacts.
• Understand customer requirements and work with the operations team to develop suitable transport solutions.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate rates and help secure new business.
• Develop existing accounts and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
• Monitor market activity and identify potential areas for growth within road freight.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure new business can be supported operationally and commercially.
