Job summary

ScionxBio is expanding its Cambridge (UK) RNA therapeutics effort and seeks a Purification Chemist to join an interdisciplinary team. You will purify and characterise mRNA and modified oligonucleotides, developing HPLC methods and delivering high-quality products for pipeline programs.

The role emphasizes deep chromatography expertise, preferably from a recent PhD or MSc with strong industry experience, with collaboration across chemists, biologists and formulation scientists in a fast-paced lab

Qualifications

PhD or MSc with substantial industrial experience.
Hands-on background in HPLC purification of diverse oligonucleotides.
Strong background in mRNA purification and analysis.
Experience with HPLC and LC-MS instrumentation.
Ability to independently develop and optimise separation methods.
Excellent attention to detail and documentation.
Good communication and teamwork in fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

Develop, optimize and run HPLC methods for purification of oligonucleotides, modified xRNA constructs and mRNA.
Purify in vitro transcribed mRNA and assess purity and integrity.
Use HPLC and LC-MS to confirm identity and quality of RNA constructs.
Develop workflows and troubleshoot separations to improve resolution and yield.
Handle downstream processing including desalting and buffer exchange.
Maintain instrument readiness and perform routine checks.
Record results clearly and communicate with chemistry and biology teams.
