Job summary

Agilent Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Expert R&D Scientist in Church Stretton to drive polymer and silica particle innovations for chromatography and biopharma applications.

You will lead design and execution of complex syntheses, particle manufacturing, and surface functionalization, bridging lab and production to ensure scalable processes. The role requires a PhD/MS with 8+ years of related experience, strong communication, and a proven track record in solving high-impact technical problems

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MS in Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• 8+ years of experience with polymer/organic synthesis, polymeric particle manufacturing and surface functionalization.
• Experience with materials characterization techniques and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead innovations across chromatography, diagnostics and biopharma consumables.
• Design and execute polymer synthesis, particle manufacture and surface functionalization.
• Lead major R&D projects and mentor cross-functional teams.
• Transfer technology from R&D to manufacturing with robust, scalable processes.
• Present technical results to senior leadership and contribute to IP generation.
