Responsibilities

• Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families appropriate to their level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided accurately.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS required.
• RN License in the state of employment or a compact license.

Position Requirements

Education/Skills

• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• Precepted by trained staff; initial onboarding validated through competency assessments.
• Complete all annual competency requirements.

Experience

• Perioperative RN Residency or recent OR/Perioperative experience preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Current ACLS certification required.

All certifications must be obtained within the specified grace periods based on experience level, as per policy.
