This is an exciting opportunity to join the Risk Strategy team in a role that supports the whole business by monitoring our various Group risk exposures. The successful candidate will analyze where the Group's risks are concentrated, how they are changing day to day and over time, and suggest ways to improve our risk and capital profile.

As a Risk Strategy Analyst, you will stay informed about current and emerging risks, and understand the details of various market and credit risk calculations. Overall, this role is ideal for someone with strong quantitative and analytical skills.

Your role in the team

This role is part of the Risk Strategy team. You will understand how IG monitors and manages its risks and how this influences the regulatory and economic capital the Group holds. You will collaborate with risk teams and other business units to understand risk sources and ensure they are incorporated into our risk management framework and risk appetite statement. An inquisitive mindset and a desire to clarify complex issues are essential.

What you’ll do

• Monitor metrics in the risk appetite statement to identify issues and trends
• Analyze data to understand changes in market and credit risk exposures; build dashboards if appropriate
• Stay informed about current and emerging risks and produce semi-annual reports on these, gathering insights from subject matter experts
• Keep up-to-date with best practices in risk measurement and consider their impact on capital management
• Manage the Group's Risk Management Framework and Risk Appetite Statement
• Engage with new projects within the Group to understand associated risks and capital needs, developing relationships across teams

What you’ll need for this role

• A solid understanding of market, credit, and operational risk
• A bachelor’s degree with strong mathematical or quantitative coursework
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• High attention to detail
• Ability to explain complex concepts simply
• At least one year of relevant experience
• Risk-related background is highly preferred
