Job summary

Vanguard Group, Inc. in the United Kingdom seeks a risk governance professional to act as a gatekeeper for UKPI risk, affiliating with governance and compliance functions to embed an ERMF across operations.

The role leads governance forums, advances risk reporting, and supports assurance testing, audits, and executive risk discussions while partnering with first-line teams to drive effective risk management.

Qualifications

• Significant related work experience.
• Experience in risk management is preferred.
• Familiarity with first line risk management (RCSA, ICARA, risk events) and risk assessment tools.
• Familiarity with FCA regulatory rulebooks.
• Understanding how AI tools support analysis and risk management.
• Communicates complex information clearly and succinctly.
• Able to independently question assumptions and challenge to drive better outcomes.
• Strong governance and risk reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Governance Oversight: Lead and support the governance of risks and issues at the first-line level, analysing trends and addressing high-impact gaps.
• Issue & Risk Remediation: Identify and remediate issues, risks, and control gaps through root cause analysis and tracking.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with operational teams, ERM, and second-line functions to align risk interpretation and reporting.
• Reporting & Forums: Contribute to risk reporting at European and global levels, including Top Risks, ICARA, and Risk Events.
• Risk and Control Framework Implementation: Support design and implementation of internal risk and control framework within the division.
• Consultation and Audit Support: Provide consultation and analytical support for audits and risk mitigation.
• Management Reporting: Develop and distribute management risk data, identifying trends and anomalies.
• Best Practice Sharing: Build relationships to share best practices and control solutions.
• Risk Awareness and Education: Educate team members on emerging risk issues and compliance.
• Project Participation: Participate in special projects as required.
