Our team

The Risk Data team sits within Model Risk & Analytics (MR&A). We are responsible for maintaining our Purpose, Strategic Aims, and Values & Behaviours, ensuring we are responsible custodians of our customers' and investors' money.

This is an exciting time to join us as we contribute to bank-wide projects such as BCBS 239, ensuring the delivery and accuracy of Non-Retail Risk data, monitoring and validating risk data for various activities including portfolio analysis, model development, and reporting. We seek someone to help us enhance our capabilities.

What you'll be doing

1. Sourcing and developing new data feeds and datasets across all Virgin Money products.
2. Extracting, manipulating, and validating data to support business units and regulatory obligations.
3. Rebuilding, streamlining, and automating existing data processes.
4. Providing SME knowledge for Risk data in bank-wide projects.
5. Investigating and resolving Data Quality Issues within various data sources and repositories.
6. Designing and maintaining controls to ensure data quality and fitness for purpose.
7. Supporting senior team members with complex projects.

We need you to have

• Experience in banking, risk management, and data management.
• Familiarity with data mining tools (e.g., SAS, SQL) and MI analysis.
• Understanding of data manipulation and ETL processes.
• A high-level qualification in a numerical or coding-based discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Logical problem-solving skills for technical and business issues.

It's a bonus if you have but not essential

• Knowledge of risk systems and data landscape within Virgin Money.
• Knowledge of data management industry approaches.
• Understanding of Retail Banking, products, and Credit Reference Agency reporting.
