Job summary

Santander is seeking a Risk Assurance Consultant Competence to join our Governance team in Milton Keynes, Bradford, Belfast or Glasgow. You will run competence processes, keep complete records, and support regulatory reporting to ensure accurate data and strong governance.

Working with diverse stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement, provide guidance on competence requirements, and develop your knowledge of regulatory rules and business processes to deliver good customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational risk, governance, compliance or competence management.
• Ability to manage varied workload and meet deadlines within service levels.
• Experience maintaining audit trails and evidence in line with procedures.
• Ability to guide stakeholders while delivering high-quality internal service.

Responsibilities

• Delivering Competence Management operational activities accurately, in line with approved procedures, controls, service levels and regulatory requirements.
• Managing key competence processes including Certification, Insurance Good Repute, Regulatory activities, control notifications and stakeholder support.
• Maintaining complete, accurate and auditable records, ensuring evidence and documentation meet governance standards.
• Monitoring competence management controls, track completion, follow up outstanding actions and support remediation activity where required.
• Identifying, investigating and escalating exceptions, data quality issues, overdue actions and cases requiring formal review or decision-making.
• Supporting regulatory reporting and data submission activities, ensuring information is accurate, timely and fit for purpose.
• Providing a professional and responsive service to Business Units and stakeholders, offering guidance on competence management requirements and processes.
• Continually developing knowledge of competence management, regulatory requirements and business processes, taking ownership of personal development and performance.
