Job summary

Santander is seeking a Credit Risk Manager based in Milton Keynes to join the UK Credit Risk team. You will join the Large Corporate & Event-Driven Credit group, providing independent risk analysis and sanctioning for mid-market transactions, including private equity-backed deals and growth-oriented SMEs.

You will contribute to risk assessment, decision making, and collaboration with Front Office and Risk teams. The role emphasizes innovative approaches, governance, and strong credit arguments.

Qualifications

• Understanding of corporate banking products and derivatives.
• Knowledge of banking documentation such as LMA for Leveraged Finance.
• Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workloads with strong stakeholder management.
• Ability to make independent, well-argued credit decisions and justify sanctions.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requests and produce high-quality credit analyses with a balanced view of risks and actions.
• Sanction decisions or advise Credit Fora and Committees on recommendations.
• Support and lead projects with Head of Large Corporate & Event-Driven Credit.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Risk and Front Office stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on risk appetite, structuring, and mitigation when required.
