Job summary

Blackgang Chine is seeking an experienced Engineer to join the Maintenance Team at Blackgang Chine on the Isle of Wight. The role covers maintenance of rides, attractions, vehicles, plant and mechanical equipment, with hands-on duties across a diverse set of assets.

You will perform preventative maintenance, faults diagnosis and repairs, and support safety inspections and overhaul programmes. Training will be provided for our rides and systems.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or above, or equivalent).
• Experience in mechanical maintenance within manufacturing, industrial, automotive, agricultural, marine, logistics or leisure environments.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence using digital maintenance systems and mobile technology.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on rides and attractions.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical repairs.
• Completing daily, weekly and monthly ride safety inspections using Mobaro.
• Supporting the annual ride overhaul programme and preparing rides for independent inspection.
• Maintaining site vehicles, generators, compressors, plant and horticultural equipment.
• Assisting with fabrication, refurbishment and improvement projects across the park.
• Maintaining accurate engineering records and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborating with colleagues across the park to minimise downtime and maintain guest experience.
