We actively encourage applications from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) groups, disabled applicants, members of the armed forces community, and value the positive impact of diversity.
Exciting opportunities have arisen within our Rheumatology Service. We seek enthusiastic, driven senior nurses with excellent clinical skills to join the Department of Rheumatology. Our teams are based across City and Sandwell Health Campus Sites.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can work effectively within a large multidisciplinary team and use their initiative within their scope of practice.
The successful candidate will manage patients with complex conditions, promote the service, and deliver high-quality, evidence-based care reflecting current best practices. They will work collaboratively within the Rheumatology team and be visible and accessible to patients, carers, and staff.
Candidates should be able to undertake independent nurse-led clinics, requiring skills such as expert clinical decision-making, advanced health assessment, and non-medical prescribing. The role involves seeing new and follow-up patients, extensive knowledge of Rheumatology medications and biologics, deciding treatment pathways according to NICE/BSR guidelines, and managing biologics and homecare prescriptions.
As the Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will care for patients with complex, multi-system health needs, supporting them from diagnosis to enable self-management of long-term conditions. You will provide assessment, treatment, health education, and support via clinics, telephone advice lines, and telemedicine. Flexibility and reliability are essential.
You will provide specialised advice, education, training, and support for patients, develop care pathways, and lead initiatives to enhance services. If recruitment to B7 is not possible, a B6 to 7 development role may be considered with relevant training and supervision.
