We welcome applications from all parts of the community and value the skills, experiences, and abilities that our team members bring, aligned with our Trust values of ambition, respect, and compassion. With the opening of Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, we are bringing together expertise from across our organization to provide better healthcare and create more jobs.

We actively encourage applications from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) groups, disabled individuals, armed forces members, and recognize the positive impact of diversity on our teams. We are committed to equality and diversity within our workforce.

Job overview

We have exciting opportunities within our Rheumatology Service for enthusiastic, skilled senior nurses to join our Department of Rheumatology. Our teams are based across City and Sandwell Health Campus Sites.

Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, effective within a multidisciplinary team, and capable of using their initiative within their scope of practice.

The successful candidate will manage patients with complex conditions, promote the service, and deliver high-quality, evidence-based care reflecting current best practices. They will work collaboratively within the Rheumatology team and be accessible to patients, carers, and staff.

Responsibilities include conducting independent nurse-led clinics, making expert clinical decisions, performing advanced health assessments, and non-medical prescribing. The role involves managing biologics and homecare prescriptions, seeing new and follow-up patients, and understanding Rheumatology medications and guidelines.

Main duties of the job

As the Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will care for patients with complex, multisystem health needs, supporting them from diagnosis to self-management. You will provide assessments, treatments, health education, and support via clinics, telephone advice, and telemedicine. Reliability and flexibility are essential.

You will offer specialised advice, education, training, and develop care pathways and nurse-led initiatives to enhance services. If B7 positions are unavailable, a B6 to 7 development role may be considered with appropriate training and supervision.

Note: High application volumes may lead to early closing of this post.
