Job summary

Mount Charles is recruiting a Cleaning Operative based at Lisburn Leisureplex. The role involves ensuring all areas are cleaned to required standards, using COSHH guidelines, and maintaining safety through proper signage and equipment handling.

The successful candidate will work 20 hours per week with a flexible, can-do attitude and strong time-management, delivering high standards of customer service in a family-oriented company.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Good time-management skills and attention to detail.
• Basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to understand safety instructions and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas efficiently to the required standards, including weekly and periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by COSHH guidelines.
• Ensure full knowledge of cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use equipment only after training.
• Report immediately any faulty equipment and mark it as faulty.
• Use appropriate safety signage at all times and warn customers where possible.
• Keep cleaning stores clean and equipment stored safely.

Working Pattern:

• 20 hours per week
• Tuesday 4pm to 8pm
• Saturday 10am to 6pm
• Sunday 10am to 6pm

The Role:

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
• The Person:
• Self-motivated, working independently and on owninitiative to ensure set tasks completed

• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
