Job summary

Mount Charles Group is recruiting a Cleaning Operative for our site at Translink, Belfast. This role involves cleaning all areas to the required standards on a 25-hour weekly pattern, with a 4-week rolling rota and early start from 07:00 to 22:15.

You will need knowledge of cleaning chemicals per COSHH, ability to work independently, and a customer-focused approach with good attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and COSHH knowledge.

• Basic reading/writing/listening skills for safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner - this to include weekly and periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by COSHH guidelines.
• Ensure full working knowledge of cleaning equipment and use after training.
• Report faulty equipment and mark as faulty; do not use.
• Use safety signage appropriately at all times.
• Keep cleaning stores tidy and store equipment safely.
• Comply with security regulations for cleaning materials and buildings.

We are currently recruiting for a Cleaning Operative to join our team based at Translink, Belfast. This is a great opportunity to join a world leading facilities management company.
Working Pattern:

• 25 hours per week
• 4 Week rolling rota
• Earliest start time 07:00 and latest finish 22:15

The Role:

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
• Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by client and Mount Charles

The Person:

• Have knowledge of cleaning chemicals/products and have previous cleaning experience
• Are customer focused with good eye for detail
• Good time management skills
• Experience of working on your own and ensuring set tasks are completed.
• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
