Birmingham City Council is seeking several dynamic Revenues Officers to join their Revenues Team. This role involves both site visits to monitor developments and desk-based work to update business rate accounts, requiring strong customer service skills and some investigative experience.

With responsibility for collecting approximately £1 billion in business rates, council tax, and business improvement district levies, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Revenues Team and contribute significantly to the service.
We are recruiting several Revenues Officers, specifically seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to work as part of the existing Valuation and Inspection Team.
Your role as a Revenues Inspector will involve visiting sites across the city to monitor new developments, review changes in use, and resolve queries that require on-site visits.
In addition to site visits, you will conduct desk-based investigations using various IT applications.
We are also looking for officers who will be desk-based, updating business rate accounts and handling customer queries.
Applicants should demonstrate strong customer service skills and experience in investigations to resolve queries. Knowledge of Council Tax and Business Rates is desirable but not essential.
