Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking a Systems Support Officer for the Revenues and Benefits Service. The role focuses on supporting and developing the systems used across Revenues & Benefits, with emphasis on Housing Benefits.

You will work with operational teams, system suppliers and stakeholders to ensure systems remain accurate, resilient and aligned with business needs. You will investigate issues, analyse data, test changes, and support continuous improvement while maintaining high standards

Qualifications

• Experience in Revenues and Benefits service.
• Strong understanding of Housing Benefit legislation and administration.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with data and systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of audiences and manage stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist IT system support for the Revenues & Benefits Service.
• Run and monitor critical business processes to ensure systems remain operational.
• Investigate system and process failures, identify root causes and resolve or escalate.
• Analyse data and reports to identify trends and help improve services.
• Test new functionality, system upgrades and legislative changes to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with operational teams, ICT colleagues and suppliers to resolve issues.
