Job summary

Wealden District Council is seeking a confident, compassionate and organised manager to run our Uckfield retirement living court, helping older residents live safely, independently and within a welcoming community.

You will oversee the safe and efficient running of the court; build trusted relationships with residents; respond to wellbeing and safeguarding concerns; manage tenancy issues, complaints, lettings, voids, repairs and safety checks; maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in housing, social care or similar customer-focused service.
• Understanding of safeguarding and health and safety.
• Approachable, organised and confident working independently.
• Ability to use IT systems and handle sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe and efficient running of the court.
• Build trusted relationships with residents.
• Respond to wellbeing and safeguarding concerns.
• Manage tenancy issues, complaints, lettings, voids, repairs and safety checks.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Work with families, contractors and partner agencies.
• Cover other courts and occasional out-of-hours emergencies as required.
