Job summary

British Red Cross in Penrith is seeking a Retail Van Driver to manage deliveries, collections and stock transfers for Red Cross shops. You will be the main contact for stock issues and help promote the charity in the local community.

The role requires a UK manual driving licence (2+ years), strong communication and customer care, plus experience in van driving and basic vehicle maintenance. Hours are casual with pay at £13.45 per hour, with flexible benefits and pension support.

Qualifications

• A manual, UK driving licence held for minimum of two years.
• Knowledge of current laws and best practices for driving, vehicles, and road traffic operations.
• Strong communication skills and a proven ability to provide excellent customer care and ensure a positive experience for all.
• Previous experience in van driving, deliveries, basic vehicle maintenance, and handling administrative paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Managing deliveries, collections, and stock transfers and picking up donations from corporate partners.
• Collecting stock from various warehouses across the country and distributing where needed.
• Keeping the vehicle safe and well-maintained, including servicing and safety checks.
• Managing health and safety issues, following procedures and national policies.
