Job summary

NVQ Assessor in the United Kingdom is seeking candidates to transition into a rewarding training career. Full training will be provided to achieve Level 4 Assessor Coach qualification, after which salary will be reviewed.

You will assess and support learners in Retail, Admin and Customer Service aligned to new standards. You will conduct online and face-to-face observations, manage your diary, organise progress documents, and support learners to overcome barriers while meeting KPIs.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience within Retail; management experience preferred.
• Experience in administration within a Retail setting (cash office, MIS reports, payroll costs).
• Confident delivering Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT to level 2; full training provided.

• Deliver training and support for Functional Skills – Maths, English and ICT to level 2.

Full training and support will be given to trainee candidates to achieve the Level 4 Assessor Coach qualification, upon achievement salary will be reviewed.

Your duties will include the following:

• Assess and support learners working towards RetailApprenticeships (New Standards) up to Level 4, Business Admin (New Standards) up to Level 3 and Customer Service up to Level 3.
• Deliver training and support to learners undertaking Functional Skills – Maths, English and ICT to level 2.
• Conduct online and face-to-face observations of learners to gather evidence towards their qualifications.
• Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learners’ needs.
• Meet Assessor KPIs regarding timely visits, quality paperwork and general administration.
• Assessors are expected to take part in learner recruitment to maintain their own caseload.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of experience within Retail; ideally at the Management level though this is not essential.
• Must have experience in administration within a Retail setting, e.g. managing the cash office, dealing with MIS reports and reporting figures, and managing a project (launching a sale, monitoring payroll costs, managing time).
• Confident to deliver Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT – (Must hold own at grades C or above – or Key/Functional Skills at level 2) – full training provided
• Happy to undertake the Assessor award for trainee candidates
• Full, clean, UK driving licence and use of a vehicle.
• Must be flexible with travel.
