Job summary

NVQ Assessor in London is seeking a Trainee or Qualified Assessor who can work from home and in the field with travel across the region. The role includes supporting learners on Retail Apprenticeships up to Level 4 and delivering Functional Skills alongside continual on-the-job training.

Full training is provided to achieve the Level 4 Assessor Coach qualification, after which salary will be reviewed. Excellent communication and organisation are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience within Retail at management level.
• Confident to support learners with Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT – level 2.
• Willing to undertake the Assessor award for trainee candidates.
• Must be flexible with travel.
• Must be an excellent communicator who is learner- and quality-focused.

Responsibilities

• Assess and support learners working towards Retail Apprenticeships up to Level 4.
• Deliver training and support for Functional Skills – Maths, English and ICT to level 2.
• Conduct online and face-to-face observations of learners to gather evidence.
• Manage your diary to ensure timely visits and reviews.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners and overcome barriers to learning.
• Meet Assessor KPIs for visits, paperwork and administration.
• Potentially recruit learners to maintain caseload.

Your duties will include the following:

• Assess and support learners working towards RetailApprenticeships (New Standards) up to Level 4
• Deliver training and support to learners undertaking Functional Skills – Maths, English and ICT to level 2.
• Conduct online and face-to-face observations of learners to gather evidence towards their qualifications.
• Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learners’ needs.
• Meet Assessor KPIs regarding timely visits, quality paperwork and general administration.
• Assessors are expected to take part in learner recruitment to maintain their own caseload.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of experience within Retail at the Management level.
• Confident to support learners with Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT – (Must hold own at grades C or above – or Key/Functional Skills at level 2) – full training provided
• Happy to undertake the Assessor award for trainee candidates
• Must be flexible with travel.
• Must be an excellent communicator who is learner and quality focused.
• Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.

To be an Assessor you would need to hold either an; A1/2, D32/33, or CAVA which we have a link to HERE .
