Retail Store Manager

Salary: £25,734 - £30,149 plus benefits

Reports to: Area Manager

Department: Trading

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Location: Rotherham Shop

At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer. We are professionals with purpose, but we need to go much further and faster. We’re looking for a talented, motivated store manager to join our trading team. You’ll act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, motivating your team to maximize sales and fundraising targets. Your shop will be a community hub where people learn about our work and get involved.

What will I be doing?

  • Guiding, inspiring, and engaging a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse team.
  • Owning the commercial operation of your store, including display, merchandising, stock management, shop standards, layout, sales, and income.
  • Leading by example and providing excellent customer and supporter service.
  • Maximising profit through effective cost control and sales strategies.
  • Building relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
  • Organising and running creative fundraising events to meet targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration, and HR policies.
  • Performing manual handling and physical activities as part of daily duties.
