Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Store Manager I or II, you will have a hands-on opportunity to develop supervisory experience and skills while managing the overall operations at a low or lower complexity store. You will learn how to drive success, gain expertise, and develop a clear understanding of business operations, creating and developing great teams. The Store Manager I and II roles also require performing all functions normally performed by a store team member. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to own your business by driving sales, modeling Purple Promise service, and delivering operational excellence. These foundational experiences will prepare you for a future role managing a larger store with higher volume and more direct reports.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Understand and model FedEx Office values to customers and team members.
  2. Coach and teach your team, ensuring they have the tools and information needed to support company goals and perform their jobs.
  3. Work with your supervisor to create solutions for your business, complex customers, host partnerships, and commercial sales.
  4. Ensure an exceptional store experience that engages and retains customers and team members, supporting the FedEx brand.
  5. Use FedEx Office tools and resources to select, train, develop, retain, and manage your direct reports.
  6. Interact with your supervisor for guidance, coaching, and to escalate issues as needed.
  7. Understand and execute all operational and sales activities to exceed financial and customer experience targets.
  8. Perform daily duties such as accounts receivable, inventory reports, sales recaps, and bank deposits.
  9. Take ownership of store controls, including SOPs, financials, safety, security, scheduling, and compliance.
  10. Utilize Quality Improvement tools to enhance the business and innovate.
  11. Be flexible with your schedule based on business needs.
  12. Perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school degree or GED required; Associates Degree or some college preferred.
  • 2+ years of related experience (retail, service, hospitality, military); supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
  • Must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications at hire or transfer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ability to work alone in the store at times.
  • Stand during entire shift, excluding meal/rest periods.
  • Lift and move up to 55 pounds.
  • Perform activities requiring bending/twisting.
  • Travel as needed to meet with customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Work cooperatively and follow instructions.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain attention and concentration for extended periods.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain regular attendance and support store hours.
