Job summary

Bardwood Support Services is seeking a Retail Security Support Officer to cover multiple Newcastle sites. The role involves patrolling store premises, monitoring entries and exits, and responding to incidents. You will work to deter theft and ensure staff and customer safety in a busy retail environment.

The position offers a pathway to permanency after 12 weeks with client transfer and a range of benefits. You will be part of a growing security team serving several local locations.

Qualifications

• SIA License is required.
• Minimum 5 years of continuous employment history or career history.
• Experience in a similar security role is preferred.
• Candidate must be physically fit for duties.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the retail store premises.
• Investigate disturbances and monitor entry/exit points.
• Call for assistance in emergencies and operate theft-detection devices.
• Manage large crowds and build positive customer relations.

About the role

Title - Retail Security Support Officer

Pay Rate - £15.15

Location - Applicant must be willing to cover sites in Newcastle, Gosforth, Sunderland, Cramlington, Newcastle Silverlink Retail Park and Surrounding areas.

Shift Timings - up to 6 shifts per week, timings are variable

You will be working in a well‑known retail store, which holds various stock. Officers are responsible for providing safety and security to both staff and visitors alike.

• Patrolling the Retail Store Premises.
• Investigating Disturbances, as well as monitoring the entry and exit points of the retail store.
• Confidently calling for help in emergency situations and operating theft‑detecting devices.
• Effectively dealing with large crowds and building positive customer relations.
