Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking Retail security officers who can deliver exceptional customer service while creating a safe shopping environment, free from crime and the fear of crime for customers and colleagues.

You will be responsible for patrolling stores, using CCTV to deter crime, and liaising with store management to maintain safety and security. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication, adaptability, and a proactive approach to security; previous experience is desirable but not

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
• Adaptable communication style to meet the needs of different people groups.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving services business.
• Capability in the use of technology.
• Good attention to detail.
• High level of enthusiasm and passion.
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
• Public Space Surveillance SIA licence is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Work to the Assignment Instructions ensuring that all activity is accurately recorded on the correct documents, in line with quality procedures.
• Follow site-specific risk assessments ensuring all activities are completed safely.
• Set and maintain high personal and professional standards as an MITIE employee and adopt a total quality approach.
• Create a safe working environment free from crime and safety issues for colleagues, contractors and customers.
• Add a polite greeting and provide excellent customer service.
• Provide a visible security contact for colleagues, contractors and customers.
• Deliver industry leading customer service.
• Be clean, tidy and properly dressed wearing full uniform.
• Deter violence and public order offences.
• Conduct patrols of the store.
• Utilise CCTV systems to support reduction of crime and stock loss.
• Liaise with store management teams.
• Report incidents and crime through our leading technology.
• Liaise with the Police and crime partnerships to foster a great working relationship.
• Wear Body Worn CCTV to support reduction of crime and increase safety.

• Work to the Assignment Instructions ensuring that all activity is accurately recorded on the correct documents, in line with both the Client's and the Company's Quality Procedures
• To follow the site-specific Risk Assessments ensuring all activities are completed in a safe manner
