Job summary

Carlisle Support Services is seeking an enthusiastic Store Detective to work with Tesco in the Stoke area. The role includes undercover surveillance, detaining suspects when appropriate, and reporting findings to clients. Full training and career development are provided, with a competitive hourly rate and pension access.

Hours are variable, 5 days over 7 across shifts through 0600–0000, at £16.50 per hour. Candidates must have an SIA licence and be 18+ years old.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and confident interaction with clients and customers.
• Good computer literacy and ability to use standard security systems.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible to shift patterns.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct undercover surveillance to identify and prevent theft and fraud.
• Maintain a highly visible presence to deter potential offenders.
• Monitor CCTV to identify suspicious behaviour and incidents.
• Detain and interview individuals in line with policy and law.
• Compile detailed reports and present findings to clients.
• Collaborate with store management and law enforcement as required.
• Assist with inventory audits and security assessments.
