Job summary

Poundland is hiring a Security Guard at our Southampton store. A valid SIA licence and a clean five-year employment/education history are required.

The role focuses on keeping customers and staff safe, preventing theft and maintaining a secure shopping environment. Responsibilities include patrolling the store, reporting incidents via the SMART system, liaising with police if needed, and ensuring compliance with company ways of working.

Qualifications

• SIA licence (Frontline security guarding, door supervision or close protection) or valid certificates.
• A full five year check-able employment/education history.
• Experience delivering customer service is required.

Responsibilities

• Protect customers and colleagues from physical and verbal abuse.
• Deter violence and public order offences in the store.
• Patrol the store and other areas and carry out checks per site instructions.
• Deter till snatchers, theft and other bulk shoplifting.
• Record suspicious activity using the SMART system and inform store management.
