Job summary

Mitie is hiring a Retail Security Officer to provide a visible, customer-focused presence on the shop floor and help protect people and property. The role offers flexible shifts discussed at interview and opportunities for career progression within Mitie.

You will deliver outstanding service, deter theft, and work with store teams and local authorities to maintain a safe shopping environment while benefiting from paid lunch breaks and a supportive benefits program.

Qualifications

• SIA licence required or willingness to complete training.
• Full 5-year checkable employment or education history is essential for vetting.
• Proactive, professional and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor.
• Deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
• Deter theft, anti-social behaviour and public order offences.
• Carry out regular store patrols.
• Operate CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss.
• Work closely with store management teams.
• Support partnerships with Police and local crime networks.
• Use Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety for everyone onsite.
