Job summary

Staffline, in partnership with TSS, is seeking a Retail Security Officer in Yeovil. You will provide a visible deterrent, ensure safety, and uphold company policies while delivering friendly, professional service.

The role requires an SIA licence, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment. Training and progression opportunities are available within a large security provider.

Qualifications

• SIA license is required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Tech-savvy for digital devices used on site.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent to enhance site safety.
• Enforce loss prevention policies and protect staff and visitors.
• Deter troublemakers lawfully and report incidents using approved systems.
• Follow client instructions and manage duties assigned by the manager.
• Keep site knowledge current and report local developments.
• Understand and implement Fire and Safety evacuation procedures.
• Assist with staff and contractor searches if required.
• Maintain a clean, tidy security base and wear full uniform with licence clearly displayed.

Position: Retail Security Officer

Location: Yeovil

Pay Rate: £16.20 per hour

Hours: Various

Shifts: Various

SG / DS SIA licence required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing a visible uniformed deterrent, to contribute to the safety and security of the client's premises and staff
• Carrying out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensuring the safety of staff and visitors
• Lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
• Observing and reporting incidents using the correct reporting systems
• Carrying out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible
• Ensuring site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at the local level are identified
• Understanding and implementing any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
• Assisting, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches
• Ensuring that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
• Conducting yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring a full uniform is worn and the SIA licence is clearly displayed

It is crucial to have great communication and customer service skills. A lot of admin is digital and paperless, so you'll need to be tech-savvy enough to use our digital devices.
