Job summary

Mitie is seeking a confident Retail Security Officer to protect people and property on the shop floor, deter theft, and maintain a safe, positive shopping experience for customers and colleagues alike.

The role offers flexible shifts with paid lunch breaks, guaranteed contracted hours, and progression opportunities through training and apprenticeships. SIA licence support is available, and full uniform is provided.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA licence is required or willingness to complete training with potential support from Mitie.
• A full 5-year checkable employment or education history is essential for vetting.
• A proactive, professional and customer-focused approach is expected.

Responsibilities

• Providing a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor.
• Delivering outstanding customer service at all times.
• Deterring theft, anti-social behaviour and public order offences.
• Carrying out regular store patrols.
• Operating CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss.
• Working closely with store management teams.
• Supporting partnerships with Police and local crime networks.
• Using Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety for everyone onsite.

What You'll Be Doing
