Job summary

Mitie Group plc is looking for a Retail Security Officer to protect customers and colleagues on the shop floor, delivering a friendly, professional presence and helping maintain a safe shopping environment.

You will support loss prevention, operate CCTV where needed, and work flexibly as shifts are discussed at interview, with paid lunch breaks and full induction.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence or willingness to complete training.
• Full 5-year checkable employment/education history for vetting.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor.
• Deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
• Deterrence of theft and disorder on site.
• Carry out regular store patrols and CCTV monitoring.
• Work with store management and local partners to maintain safety.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor
• Delivering outstanding customer service at all times
• Deterring theft, anti-social behaviour and public order offences
• Carrying out regular store patrols
• Operating CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss
• Working closely with store management teams
• Supporting partnerships with Police and local crime networks
• Using Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety for everyone onsite

What You'll Need

• A valid SIA licence (or willingness to complete the training – we may be able to support you with this)
• A full 5-year checkable employment or education history (this is essential for vetting)
• A proactive, professional and customer-focused approach
