Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Retail Security Officer to maintain a safe shop floor, deter theft, and deliver exceptional customer service. The role offers flexible shifts arranged at interview, with guaranteed contracted hours to provide stability and progression opportunities within Mitie.

You will work on the shop floor with a visible presence, using CCTV and body-worn cameras to support safety and crime prevention, while collaborating with management and local police networks.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA licence.
• A full 5-year checkable employment or education history (essential for vetting).

Responsibilities

• Providing a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor.
• Delivering outstanding customer service at all times.
• Deterring theft, anti-social behaviour and public order offences.
• Carrying out regular store patrols.
• Operating CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss.
• Working closely with store management teams.
• Supporting partnerships with Police and local crime networks.
• Using Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety for everyone onsite.
